Give your child a reason to learn — and a way to do it.

Whether your child learns at home or goes to school every day, Laarish gives the learning a direction, real experiences and a record — real tools in their hands, a book that keeps their thinking, a guide that keeps them moving, and you as the partner.

What these words mean

Homeschooling

Your child learns outside a conventional school. You choose the curriculum, the pace and the method; when the time comes, families usually sit exams through open-schooling routes. Freedom is the point. Structure is the work — and today most parents build it alone from scattered books, apps, classes and boxes.

Conventional schooling

Your child stays in school, and Laarish runs alongside it. It is not tuition and not coaching. School teaches the syllabus; Laarish gives it direction, purpose and experience: one purposeful experience a month, built on the topics the school is about to teach, with a mentor and a record.

Why families come to us

Not toys. Not textbooks. Nor another screen.

More than a quarter of Indian students already pay for learning outside school (MoSPI 2025) — the question is what that hour teaches. Most of it is more of the same: more chapters, more tests, more screen. Children do not need more content. They need a reason to learn and a way to do it: a question that is theirs, a thing to build, someone to explain it to, and a record that shows how far they have come. That is true whether the child learns at a kitchen table or in a classroom of forty.

How we differ

What families usually assembleWhat it givesWhat it cannot giveWhat Laarish adds
Tuition and coachingMore practice on the syllabusA reason to learn itDirection through Vision Discovery; experiences built on the syllabus, not drills

How it works

It starts with Vision Discovery — a short, focused counselling experience with a Laarish mentor (and parents where it helps) that turns a child’s strengths and interests into a five-layer roadmap: Vision → Mission → Goals → Milestones → Tasks, printed as a roadmap frame for the child’s room.

  1. Vision
  2. Mission
  3. Goals
  4. Milestones
  5. Tasks

Every experience after that follows the same loop:

  1. Inspire

    A story or a question

  2. Explore

Build, grow, measure with real tools

  3. Record

Write it in the memory book; the page is scanned into the child’s record

  4. Reflect

Explain it, answer a fresh question, name what is still uncertain

After every module the family gets a short update: participation, understanding, evidence, next step.

Two ways to learn with Laarish

Homeschooling

Freedom exists. Structure does not — until now.

Why

Homeschooling parents carry the whole school in their heads — curriculum, materials, projects, mentors, progress — and the hardest question is not “what today?” but “where is all this going?” Laarish answers that question first, then gives you the system to follow it.

What runs

A complete experiential curriculum for children learning at home, stage by stage — Toddlers, Dreamers, Makers, Inventors — built around who your child is.

Vision Discovery finds the strengths; the profession tracks (I’m an Agriculturist, I’m an Architect, I’m a Robotic Engineer, I’m an Electronics Engineer, I’m an Entrepreneur) let the child become the professional for a few weeks at a time, with real tools, a book that keeps their thinking, lessons and a guide in the app, and a mentor who reviews what they made.

The journey is shaped and reshaped around the child, not around a timetable: a child who loves growing things goes deeper into living systems; a child who takes everything apart builds.

For families

A stage bundle of physical tools, books and the app on a family plan, with the mentor and Vision Discovery included.

For organisations

Homeschool collectives, learning pods, micro-schools and alternative learning centres run the same curriculum for their children, with the tools, the books, the app and facilitator training from Laarish.

What your child leaves with

A roadmap they can see, a shelf of things they made, a record of every page they wrote, and a clearer sense of who they are becoming.

Conventional Schooling

School teaches the syllabus. Laarish gives it direction, purpose and experience.

Why

A child in school is not short of content. They are short of a reason, a hand on real materials, and someone who helps them see how today’s chapter connects to who they want to be. One purposeful experience a month does more for that than another hour of tuition.

What runs

It starts with Vision Discovery Counselling and the roadmap frame. Then, each month, Laarish picks a few concepts from your child’s upcoming school syllabus and builds one experience on them — Week 1 Inspire, Week 2 Explore with the tools, Week 3 Connect (a visit to a lab, a maker or an institution; where it fits, the IISc campus where Laarish is incubated), Week 4 Reflect.

The child keeps a memory book for every module; the pages are scanned into their record; you get an update after each one.

About four to five hours a month, after school, on weekends or in holidays. School comes first: modules pause or shorten during exams.

What your child leaves with

A chapter they can explain because they built it, a memory book per module, a roadmap on the wall, and subject and stream choices made from experience rather than hearsay.

What you get

Your child keeps

A roadmap frame, a memory book per module, the things they made, a record of every page

You get

A mentor, a family update after every module, a system you did not have to assemble, and a child who can tell you what they learnt and why it matters

How it starts

  1. A conversation (20 minutes, on the phone or WhatsApp)

  2. Vision Discovery with your child

  3. The first stage bundle (homeschooling) or the first monthly module (conventional schooling)

Frequently asked questions

Homeschooling

Is homeschooling allowed in India?

Families across India homeschool, and most sit exams later through open-schooling routes such as NIOS or as private candidates with international boards. We are not a legal or exam adviser, and we do not provide certification or board equivalence: Laarish provides the learning, the mentor and the record. We are happy to share what other families have chosen.

Do I need to be a teacher?

No. The lessons are in the app, the materials come with the stage, the book tells the child what to do, and the mentor reviews the work. You are the partner, not the teacher.

Will my child fall behind on the syllabus?

The curriculum is built on real subjects — science, maths, language, the world — learnt through professions and projects. Vision Discovery sets goals and milestones, and the record shows exactly what has been covered and understood.

How much time does it take each week?

A few focused sessions, set by the child’s stage and your roadmap. Most of the time is the child’s hands on real materials, not a screen.

What about friends and socialising?

Laarish families meet at build days, Market Days and visits, and we start with the Bengaluru homeschooling community so the first families grow together.

How do I show what my child has learnt to a future school or relatives?

Every page the child writes is scanned into their record, with the things they made and the mentor’s reviews — a portfolio, not a mark sheet.

We are a homeschool collective or learning centre. Can we run it?

Yes. Write to us; we provide the curriculum, the tools, the books, the app and facilitator training, and we start with a demo day for your facilitators.

Which ages?

From toddlers to teenagers; the stage decides the tools and the depth.

Conventional Schooling

Is this tuition or coaching?

No. School teaches the syllabus; Laarish gives it direction, purpose and experience. We do not prepare for exams or promise marks.

My child is already overloaded.

One purposeful experience a month, about four to five hours, built on topics the school is about to teach. During exams we pause.

What is Vision Discovery Counselling?

A short, focused experience with a Laarish mentor that turns your child’s strengths and interests into a roadmap — vision, mission, goals, milestones, tasks — printed as a frame for their room. It also guides subject and stream choices from experience rather than hearsay.

Which classes is it for?

School-going children from Grade 4 to Class 12; the roadmap can run through Class 12.

What does a month look like?

Week 1 a story or question that starts it. Week 2 the build or experiment with real tools. Week 3 a visit that connects it to the real world. Week 4 the child explains it and the memory book is completed. Then you get an update.

Is it on a screen?

Mostly not. The tools and the book are physical; the app carries the lesson and the record and guides you more than the child.

What does it cost?

It depends on the number of modules and the stage. The first step is a conversation, then Vision Discovery; after that we agree the year together.

Let every experience lead somewhere.
